Organizational Values

Everything we do starts with our values. They are part of who we are and integral to our identity. Each value listed below refers to the way in which we as an organization interact with volunteers, donors, staff and partner organizations.

Integrity — We are honest and fair in our dealings.

Respect – We treat everyone with respect.

Inclusion – We serve anyone who meets our criteria and welcome all to serve with us as volunteers.

Collaboration – We work together and share information to achieve our mission and change lives.

Reliability – We are trustworthy. When we make a commitment, we follow through.

About SAWs

SAWs is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing freedom to low-income, permanently disabled individuals through the construction of wheelchair ramps to the exterior of the homes. Our ramps serve as their gateways to the world, re-opening the possibilities of connecting with neighbors and their larger community. Ramps provide independence and dignity.

The stories we hear from our ramp recipients and their family members are moving tales of transformation: depression lifted with increased independence; dignity restored by not having to resort to being dragged up and down the steps to exit and enter their home; reconnection with other family members with mobility issues; a renewed sense of belonging in one’s community.

Please take the time to visit our Stories page to learn more about how our work transforms lives.

We build for anyone who meets our income and disability criteria and welcome all to volunteer with us. Please visit our Volunteer page to register and learn about opportunities.
