Rev. David Berry, Mission Minister at Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis, along with the rest of the congregation have faithfully supported the SAWs mission with volunteers, prayers, encouragement, and financial support since 2003. Church members have served as Board Members, Area Coordinators, Project Managers and volunteers.
The Mission Committee provided the original $5,000 for the necessary lumber, tools, and hardware. They continue to this day to provide a solid base of income. SAWs also receives an annual grant from Second’s Mayer Chapel Foundation. The Presbyterian Women’s organization of Second has supported SAWs almost from the beginning, and congregation members contribute individually.
Today, SAWs has dozens of church partners all over the state, including St. Luke’s UMC, but Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis is still the mother of our mission.
