Building Community Transforming Lives Accessing the World

SAWs® is a nonprofit, volunteer organization founded in 2003. Originally started in Indianapolis, our organization serves clients across Indiana, as well as Arizona and Virginia. We specialize in building wooden wheelchair ramps for low-income, permanently disabled individuals. With the support of our donors and volunteers, lives are changed one ramp at a time and in less than six hours we transform a client’s life FOREVER.

Our Builders Club

Support SAWs®

Because SAWs® does not charge low-income, permanently disabled persons for their ramps, we depend on the generosity of individuals, churches, corporations and nonprofit organizations to support our efforts.

Your donation will allow us to continue our mission of providing life-changing results for our clients and our volunteers.
Whether you like to build ramps, make phone calls to prospective recipients or prepare and serve refreshments for our build teams.
A SAWs® Affiliate is a group of volunteers who come together to build wheelchair ramps for those most in need in their area.

Referring Agency Partners

SAWs® is in the process of building a strong referral network consisting of healthcare providers and nonprofit agencies that already work with our future clients and are more familiar with their circumstances.

Because of partners like CenterPoint Energy more Hoosiers are able to safely access their homes and the world beyond them. We’re grateful for CenterPoint Energy’s support in making this work possible and for helping build freedom, one ramp at a time. For neighbors like Anna, who feared falling through an unsafe ramp, and clients who simply couldn’t get in and out of their homes, these ramps mean safety, dignity, and peace of mind. Thanks to this grant from CenterPoint Energy, SAWs was able to build 5 life-changing ramps in Vigo, Madison, and Tippecanoe counties—part of 59 ramps built in those communities.sawsramps.org#SAWsRamps #grantaward #Indiana #accessmatters ... A ramp built with purpose—and a whole lot of heart. In Indianapolis, Project Manager Walt and an incredible team of volunteers came together to build safe access for Linda. Before this, every doorway meant steps and every outing required extra strain on her family. Now, her granddaughter Chasity and caregivers can get her to appointments, the store, and out into the world safely and with ease. This is what a ramp changes. Not just access—but everyday life.Thank you to Walt and all the volunteers who showed up to make it happen.Want to be part of something like this? Join us on a build: sawsramps.org/volunteer ...
