Together, We Build Freedom

Changing Lives,
One Ramp at a Time

Building Community Transforming Lives Accessing the World

SAWs® is a nonprofit, volunteer organization founded in 2003. Originally started in Indianapolis, our organization serves clients across Indiana, as well as Arizona and Virginia. We specialize in building wooden wheelchair ramps for low-income, permanently disabled individuals. With the support of our donors and volunteers, lives are changed one ramp at a time and in less than six hours we transform a client’s life FOREVER.

Our 2024 Builders Club

Support SAWs®

Because SAWs® does not charge low-income, permanently disabled persons for their ramps, we depend on the generosity of individuals, churches, corporations and nonprofit organizations to support our efforts.

Your donation will allow us to continue our mission of providing life-changing results for our clients and our volunteers.
Whether you like to build ramps, make phone calls to prospective recipients or prepare and serve refreshments for our build teams.
A SAWs® Affiliate is a group of volunteers who come together to build wheelchair ramps for those most in need in their area.

Referring Agency Partners

SAWs® is in the process of building a strong referral network consisting of healthcare providers and nonprofit agencies that already work with our future clients and are more familiar with their circumstances.

Freedom. That’s what Air Force veteran Pat Roth saw in our clients’ eyes the first time they rolled down a SAWs ramp. After retiring from the Air Force, Pat joined BraunAbility and found SAWs at just the right time. Ten years later, he helped launch our Winamac hub at BraunAbility HQ and partnered on their 50th to build 50 ramps in 50 days. Since 2020, Pat has helped build 92 ramps for people who need safe access at home.Pat is a true force multiplier—making freedom possible, ramp by ramp.Join Pat → sawsramps.org/volunteer#SAWsRamps #VolunteerAppreciation #AccessibilityMatters #BuiltForFreedom #BraunAbility #theheartofeveryramp ...
